Bully Advocate and Rescue Collective (BARC) is a 501c3, non-profit organization, supporting homeless pets in the Hampton Roads, VA area. Our mission is to create a community where the human-animal bond is valued and promoted through community outreach, adoption promotions, and animal shelter support. We provide care, comfort, and compassion to shelter pets, finding them foster families in the community to aid the overwhelmed shelters in our area. Most of the shelter pets we take in have significant medical needs, which requires fundraising. We are also starting a Capital Campaign to raise funds to build a building at BARC HQ to better serve shelter pets in our community. This will allow us to house additional dogs in times of shelter capacity crisis in our area while also having space to house pets already in foster homes if their foster goes on vacation or needs a break.
